Method
Sauté the diced onion and carrot in a pot with a splash of oil over medium heat for 8 minutes until soft and sweet.
Add the sliced garlic and chopped rosemary and cook for 1 minute.
Pour in the broth and two thirds of the beans, bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
Blend about half the pot until smooth, then return it so the soup is creamy but still has whole beans in it.
Add the remaining beans and the shredded kale and simmer for 5 minutes.
Toast the sourdough in a dry skillet for 2 minutes per side, tear it into the bowl and ladle the soup over.
