Method

  1. Cut the paneer into 1 inch cubes and sear them in a hot skillet with a little oil for 4 minutes until browned in patches, then lift out.
  2. Sauté the diced onion in the same pan over medium heat for 6 minutes until soft.
  3. Add the grated ginger and garam masala and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes until the sauce darkens and thickens.
  5. Stir in the cream, return the paneer and simmer gently for 4 minutes.
  6. Boil the basmati rice in salted water for 10 minutes, drain, and serve the curry over it with cilantro.
